With the launching of the Moto X Pure Edition (X Style outside the U.S.) on September 15 by Motorola, the phone is compared with the last years’ release, Google Nexus 6 which was also designed by Motorola. This comparison keeps sprouting up the differences between the designs of the same company over a period of a year and hence is considered significant.
We have here tried to compare and differentiate various features of the phones in question for better understanding of their features.
The dimension is the first thing you notice of any device, the size of Moto X Pure is 154 mm x 76 mm x 11.1 mm, while that of the Nexus is 160 mm x 83 mm x 10.1 mm. Nexus 6 is longer and wider.
The weight of the Moto X Pure is 179 g and that of Nexus 6 is 184g, however the lighter Moto X Pure is made thicker than Nexus 6,this makes the Nexus 6 more sleek and easy to carry around.
Both Devices are made of aluminum frames; however the Moto X Pure has the advantage of a customizable back cover, which allows you to customize your back cover as per your choice. The Nexus 6 on the other hand comes only with two choices cloud white or midnight blue, matte finish.
Although both the phones are covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for best visual effects, the 5.96 inch screen of Nexus 6 has been equipped with a high quality AMOLED display that makes the total experience far better when compared to the IPS TFT LCD display from the 5.7inch screen of Moto X Pure .
A wide difference is seen when it comes to resolution, Moto X Pure has a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels with a density of 520 pixel-per-inches, however Nexus 6 has 2560×1440 pixels and a density of 492ppi, and making pictures clear and defined.
Although Moto X Pure had been considered to have high specifications in terms of the camera, the company has come up with even better versions in Nexus 6. Here is a table that gives exactly the components present in each of them.
|Moto X Pure
|21-MP rear camera and a 5-MP front camera, f/2.0 aperture, 4x digital zoom, Phase Detect Auto-Focus, Closed loop processing
|Dual LED ring flash in the back lens only
Motorola Moto X Pure is powered with S808 chipset bundled with 6 cores of 1.8GHz processors, and partnered with Adreno 418 GPU. In the same time, Nexus 6 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with a CPU with 2.7GHz quad-core and Adreno 420.
- Moto X Pure – 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB (you would have to use a SD card to expand memory).
- Nexus 6 – 32 and 64 GB.
Moto X Pure has 3000 mAh Turbo Power battery that can be recharged within 15 minutes. It can last up to 10 hours when charged once. On the other hand Nexus 6 has 3220mAh and is also supported by Qi wireless charging.
- Moto X Pure comes with a price tag of $399 in U.S and outside U.S also.
- Nexus 6 comes with a discount of 50% in certain e-commerce sites, and can even be bought for $349.
Both the device are masterpieces of Motorola, as of now, Google Nexus 6 comes with a lower price (with discount offers). This makes it a better choice of buying. But, next series of Nexus is going to launch soon, which makes the device quite older.
