Asus, Taiwanese smartphone manufacture, has reduced the costs of its Zenfone 3 Max and Zenfone 3 range of smartphones in India. Even though there is no authorized word on the price reduction, the move might be attributed to the roll out of Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.
The Asus Zenfone 3 (model no: ZE552KL) featuring a 5.5-inch display has got its price reduction by almost Rs 3,000 while the Zenfone 3 (model no: ZE552KL) 5.2-inch version’s cost has been reduced by Rs 2,000. The Asus Zenfone 3 (model no: ZE520KL), was rolled out at an initial price tag of Rs 17,999, but now is available at Rs 15,999. The Asus Zenfone 3 (model no: ZE552KL), which was rolled out at Rs 19,999, now retails at Rs 16,999.
For those who are not aware, the Asus Zenfone 3 was rolled out in August 2016. The 2 smartphones operate on Android 6.0 operating system and have also commenced getting an update for Android 7.0 operating system.
In the meantime, Asus smartphones below the Zenfone 3 Max range have also seen a price slash. The Asus Zenfone 3 Max 5.5-inch version received a price slash of Rs 1,000 and is currently selling with a price tag of Rs 14,999. The Asus Zenfone 3S Max, conversely, was rolled out in 2017 with a price tag of Rs 14,999 is now obtainable at Rs 12,999. The Asus Zenfone 3 Max 5.2-inch variant has also seen its price reduced by Rs 2,000. Originally rolled out with a price tag of Rs 12,999, the device is now obtainable at Rs 10,999.
Asus has been trading the Zenfone 3 range of smartphones on the USP of its battery. The smartphone below this range of handsets also plays a role of a power bank to charge other devices. It has the ability of reverse charging and has a Super Saving mode that further improves the backup.
The new price tags will be applicable across e-commerce stores and retail outlets in the country. Well, let us see as to how many companies will slash its prices due to the GST regime.###
