The Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu is all set to handle a noble cause with humbleness. He has adopted a village in Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh and has also launched several development works on Sunday. 2.14 crore is going to be the total spending on this project.
Burripalem is the village adopted by Mahesh and it is his ancestral village too. The village has been adopted under ‘Smart Village – Smart World’ programme that was launched by Andhra Pradesh government.
Mahesh’s latest blockbuster hit ‘Srimanthudu’ has propagated a theme – ‘giving back to society’ and in this spirit he adopted Burripalem. He has also adopted a village in Telangana’s Mahbubnagar district.
He said, “My grandmother and father did a bit for development of this village and now I will be taking it forward. This is really a great opportunity for me.”
Mahesh arrived at Burripalem on Sunday accompanying Tenali MLA Alapati Rajendra Prasad and his brother-in-law & Guntur MP Galla Jaydev. He even spent some of his time in his ancestral house before starting the development work there. Thousands of people were seen in the village for just a glimpse of Mahesh Babu.
Mahesh will be spending Rs.2.14 crore for constructing an Anganwadi building, classrooms in local schools, a community hall, development of roads, and laying water pipelines and drains.
MP Jaydev said, “I wanted to adopt Burripalem under ‘Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana’, but as it is native place of my in-laws, so I asked Mahesh to adopt it.” Now, Burripalem, would be transformed to a model and smart village very soon.
