On-demand transportation services have been segmented into various types of direct and indirect services. In India, car rental service market is flooded with loads of well-established players and some new players are all set to make their debut, on the grounds of head-to-head competition. Sunil Gupta, CEO and Managing Director, Avis India, while talking about the latest introduction of the app, said, “We always emphasize on saving customer’s valuable time and make the car rental a superior experience. In coming period, the company also projects to expand its services beyond the Indian boundaries. It is looking forward to tap the international opportunities. We would provide the Avis network in 168 countries. The app will also allow chauffeur drive bookings to serve its enormous network of corporate clients.”
“To serve the customers with wide range of cars, we have utilized a refined telematics solution on digital mobile and web platform. The application will act as key and navigation once the customer completes the booking procedures,” he added.
Avis India is a joint venture amid Oberoi Group (40%) and Avis Budget Group of the U.S. (60%) and holds about 12% market share in the car leasing market in India. About 40% of the company’s revenue is generated from this segment. The company has about 5,500 cars in fleets across India.
