Xiaomi on Wednesday revealed its first drone in an event, as expected. Mi Drone is a quadcopter and Xiaomi has worked with a China based company – Flymi for the development of this drone.
Mi Drone is well equipped with a camera and will be available in two different models. The affordable variant costs CNY 2499 (Rs. 26000) and can shoot videos at 1080p while the other variant is priced at CNY 2999 (Rs. 31000) and can shoot videos at 4K.
Mi Drone (1080p model) will be crowdfunded on Thursday on Mi Home app wjile the 4K model will be made available for testing in late July. Xiaomi has launched the first Mi Drone which is really cheaper than most of its competitors.
Mi Drone comes packed with 4-propeller system having detachable shields and is well backed by 5100mAh battery which offers 27 minutes nonstop flying. Both the versions offer 104 degree wide angled lenses.
Xiaomi even claims that the drone has a camera attached with a 3-axis gimbal which stabilizes nearly 2000 vibrations in a second. The device comes with GLONASS and GPS. It comes with an autopilot option. The device is intelligent enough to detect the low battery and return to home automatically. It even does the real time tracking at times of crash for the device retrieval.
Xiaomi even boasts that this drone can fly over the edge of no fly zones automatically. Its remote control is built with PCB antenna. This antenna is used for amplifying the signals of Mi Drone and you can control it up to 2Kms range. It even supports a modular design and a foldable landing gear.
One of the major highlights of this device is that it automatically returns to the user if it gets disconnected from the remote. The battery of Mi Drone can be monitored from the screen of remote.
