The vehicles that were displayed on the platform of international auto show are now slowly revealing it looks in various countries as official unveils. One of the most rumored SUV that Fiat Chrysler showed in the show has been finally revealed in India.

Jeep Compass will be made at the Fiat Chrysler’s production located in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. After the announcement of production in India, India become the only manufacturing country that will make right-hand- drive Jeep Compass. The SUV will also be exported in the international markets such as Japan, United Kingdom, and Australia.

The company has also disclosed that the all new Compass SUV will be seen on Indian roads in the second of the fiscal year. Fiat Chrysler has invested $280 million just to accommodate and setup the production facility for Jeep.

Focusing on the design and structure of the Jeep it has some glimpse of its siblings Jeep Grand Cherokee. The total length is 4398, width is 1819mm, and height is 1667mm. Its ground clearance of 178 mm tells you about the tallness of the SUV.

The power plant of the vehicle comes in to type; 1.4 liter multi-air petrol engine and 2.0 liter diesel engine. The Compass Jeep SUV provides two option in the transmission systems; 6-speed manual gearbox and 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Speaking about its power the 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol engine generates 160 bhp of maximum power at 260 Nm of Torque. Whereas, 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel engine is capably produces 170 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The power train will be integrated with 4×4 transmission along with various driving modes based on the variant.

The metal part of the Compass Jeep is made of 64% high tensile steel. Being a SUV it comes with powerful projector headlamps with DRLs with its seven slot grille coated in black. Company claims that the design of the tail lamps came from the inspiration of Ironman. The Jeep will have more the 50 security features as well as the top variant with all wheel drive transmission will be equipped with 6 airbags.

The production of the vehicle will be initiated in June this year said Managing Director and President of FCA India­– Kevin Flynn.
