Asus is expected to declare the third generation of its ZenFone smartphone on May 31 at Computex 2016 event. Jerry Shen, ASUS CEO has even shared few details about Asus ZenFone 3 smartphone saying that the phone will be launched in the month of June targeting mid-range segment.
Jerry even said, “This year about 90percent of ZenFone 3 smartphones will be having Qualcomm processor while only 10 percent of devices will be packed with MediaTek processor. ZenFone devices will be made available in 6 countries by the month of August.”
He even revealed the plans for a ZenFone 3 Max model and it will account two-thirds of total ZenFone 3 shipments. ZenFone 3 Deluxe is another ZenFone variant teased Shen.
Shen told the Digitimes that ASUS will be competing with Oppo and Huawei in the Chinese market. Asus saw its revenue increased over 40 percent in 2016 Q1 which accounts to strong sales in Brazil, Europe, South East Asia and Russia.
Earlier, the ZenFone 3 smartphones codenamed as Z010DD and Z012D were spotted in January in the benchmark listings. The former model was seen featuring an HD display of 5.9inches, 12MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 3GB RAM, Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC processor and 32GB inbuilt memory while the latter featured full HD display of 5.5inches, hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB in-built memory. The images of ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Deluxe were also leaked.
